"Ice Cold Death" - story by Tony De Paul and art by Dick Giordano.

Story :

Ice Cold Death takes us into the freezing Arctic circle above Canada - and into a mystery involving a strange virus which could easily threaten the world.

The scenario is not as far-fetched as it may seem….when man began exploring the area, looking for either what was called the North-West Passage or the route to the North Pole, many weird and wonderful things happened to the early adventurers!

Men and ships disappeared without trace and strange illnesses (invariably later traced to incorrect diet) were commonplace.

It’s interesting that Lee Falk rarely placed The Phantom in a snowbound adventure (The 1938 daily, The Prisoner of the Himalayas was the first).
