The 22nd Phantom part 3; The Man in the Shadows written by Claes Reimerthi and with art this time provided by two talented Spanish artists Rafael Ruiz and Coral Martinez. Is this the final installment of this fascinating and enthralling multi part story?
For me, these 3 stories centred as they do on Kit and Heloise have opened up an infinite world of possibilities without eliminating the father. Kit and Heloise could have many adventures together or independently in the future.
Neither of them has sat comfortably on the empty throne as yet, nor do I really
think they will. They both acquitted themselves reasonably well with their first
major challenges, if not without some vulnerability. Importantly, they survived
and learned vital lessons from their errors.
The looming presence of the missing father and the lessons bestowed by him
are a delight to read... as the question, what would Dad have done, is often asked
rhetorically.
One big question remains to be answered of course. Where is the Phantom? Is he alive or in trouble somewhere?
