Revenge of the Hypnotist is, as you are about to discover, an intriguing Phantom adventure! There have been a number of Phantom stories in which evil witch doctors have used ‘magic’ potions, sounds and drugs to induce a wide variety of comas, but rarely pure hypnosis.
Which is probably a little surprising remembering that Lee Falk created Mandrake the Magician some two years before launching The Phantom! Mandrake was an illusionist and hypnotist and for a brief time, actually possessed super powers.
Hypnotism has been known for centuries and as far back as the 16th century has been the subject of definitive investigation! There are many people who are highly skeptical about hypnotism and firmly believe it is little more than a rigged stage act.
Nothing could be further from the truth!
