EXCITING NEW PHANTOM COLLECTIBLES
85TH ANNIVERSARY PHANTOM DIARY - TRADE EDITION & LIMITED EDITION
In February 1936, the then 24-year-old Lee Falk published the first Phantom comic strip, introducing his audience to the adventures of a masked superhero who would go on to thrill, mystify and delight his fans to this day.
To mark the 85th anniversary of the first appearance of The Phantom, Mallon Publishing has produced an 85th Anniversary Phantom Diary.
The format of the diary is in the original cased, section-sewn style of the first Phantom diaries and the contents cover significant events in the eight and a half decades of Phantom history, a timeline of the facts and figures that fans look for, and a special introductory spread for each decade covering major Phantom developments in that period. Special spreads on the origin story and Hero & Devil are also included.
The cover of the diary features an illustration by Sy Barry, especially commissioned for this publication.
We also have a limited-edition of 300 copies of the diary. Each copy of the limited edition is numbered and features a special embossed cover design and a ribbon marker. A numbered and signed limited-edition print of the Sy Barry illustration, printed on 270 gsm Mohawk superfine smooth acid-free archival stock, is also included with each limited edition of the diary.
“I can’t recall a Phantom diary that’s been as meticulously researched, or beautifully crafted, as this. This one is by the phans, for the phans.”
