"Medusa's Keeper" - story by Philip Madden and and art by Heiner Bade.

Cover art by Antonio.

Story :

Medusa's Keeper - a new story full of action and a plot stemming from Greek Mythology. Most readers will be familiar with Medusa, one of three Gorgon sisters (Medusa, Sthenno and Euryale), generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Gazing directly upon her would turn onlookers to stone.

Defeated and killed by one of the demi gods, Perseus, Medusa's head was used to create a terrifying weapon. Not really a weapon of mass destruction by todays standards but back in the day…

Centuries have passed and this weapon, guarded for so long, surfaces once again to threaten mankind. Plans are afoot and, of course, The Phantom finds himself in the midst of the drama! There was some debate around the cover art for this issue, was the depiction too close to a Captain America pose?

It was discussed at some length with artist Antonio Lemos and the decision was to go with it as you see it, we decided that if you were to throw a disc, with any force, this would be the natural power position.

What do you think?
