Frew Issue 1690 contains a new American Daily (“The Aeronaut”); an American Sunday (The Black Gold Pirates) from 1968 as well as an older Sunday (The Lions of Kukhan) from 1967.
The two older classics are drawn by legendary Sy Barry who is, at the moment, offering original art from his website www.sybarry.com
The Aeronaut (over 50 pages!) is a strange, time shifted tale originating with the 19th Phantom in World War 2 whilst dealing in the main with modern gang crime.  Watch for the Phantom’s interesting new interrogation technique.
The classic high contrast art of Sy Barry in both The Black Gold Pirates and The Lions of Kukhan is is the favourite Phantom style of many fans and it is easy to see why. This is iconic Phantom art.
